St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth’s Tour de Moor returns on Sunday 11 October 2026, offering cyclists the chance to explore the wild landscape of Dartmoor while raising vital funds for local hospice care.
There are three routes to choose from, so you don’t have to be a seasoned cyclist to take part.
Beast Mode is the big one - a challenging 53km ride for cyclists aged 12 and over.
For those looking for something a little less ferocious, Adventurer Style covers 28km, incorporating sections of Dartmoor’s Granite and Gears Cycle Trail, and is open to riders aged nine and above.
And then there’s the 11km Mini-Moor, following Drake’s Trail and designed to be a family-friendly option suitable for all ages.
Entry costs £40 for the 53km and 28km routes, and £20 for the Mini-Moor. St Luke’s says the entry fees cover the cost of putting the event on, while sponsorship and fundraising provide the real financial boost to its hospice services.
In fact, if every rider raises at least £100, St Luke’s says the combined fundraising could provide care for 100 local families at home during some of the most difficult times of their lives.
Pedal Power
So whether you’re looking for a serious cycling challenge, a family adventure, or simply an excuse to get out onto Dartmoor and earn your Sunday lunch, Tour de Moor offers plenty of reasons to get on your bike.
And regular Positive Plymouth readers may recognise the name St Luke’s already - the hospice was also behind this year’s wonderful Guiding Lights art trail around Plymouth.
