Uncle Tom Cobley and all
One of Devon’s best-loved traditional fairs returns to Widecombe-in-the-Moor on Tuesday 8 September.
This year’s Widecombe Fair promises a whole day of rural entertainment, music, food, crafts, vintage vehicles and plenty of good old-fashioned Devon fun.
Unfortunately it has been affected by the ongoing bluetongue situation, with the sheep and cattle classes cancelled to help protect local farming communities and livestock.
But there’s still a huge amount to see and do - including horse and pony classes, heavy horses, terrier racing, bale tossing, vintage machinery, live music and, of course, the famous Uncle Tom Cobley downhill race!
Run entirely by volunteers and raising money for local good causes, Widecombe Fair is one of those wonderfully traditional Devon occasions that feels like it belongs here.
So, if you fancy a day on the Moor with Uncle Tom Cobley an’ all, Widecombe is the place to be. Gates open 9am - until late.
